Temperament: Calm but willful if pushed.
Personality: 
Rhombea is independant and calm. He doesn't tend to take much stick from people before he lets them know with a kick or a nip. Treat him kindly and you'll be rewarded with a compliant, gentle mount who'll take you wherever you want to go - through any obstacles. Rhombea will answer to most variations of his name, "Rhom" is most often used while working/training him and "Bee-Bee" is a more affectionate name that he finds more appealing and often has a happier disposition when called that. Rhombea doesn't mind training, though he can get bored quickly, especially if confined to an arena or barn - he'd rather be taught how to navigate real terrain, such as in the forests, woods and taiga that surround his home. Rhombea has a natural affinity for water and takes to it with ease and enthusiasm, despite his stocky stature, he is quite small for a draft built Faimé but carries a lot of the presence that Friesians are renowned for. 
Rhombea is more at home with other animals, much the same as his mother (whom he is very close to), the pair often free the critters that live with the sisters and escape as a gang into the forests. They know they are loved and always return home - one way or another.
Rhombea has a softness for Tel'Abim bananas and can be quite petulant if he doesn't have at least one during training of any sort. Rhombea isn't outwardly aggressive, he just prefers his own company or to be doing something, training isn't his idea of fun. Get him out in the world and he's a different horse, it seems that any degree of captivity riles him.
Person most affectionate towards: Evangela.
Animal most affectionate towards: Apiola.
Favourite location: The bay north of West Sanctum.
History: 
Rhombea was born in the wilds, Oyamel, having escaped one night, had hunkered down in a remote cave on the north coast of Sunstrider Isle and managed to give birth to her first son away from the 'help' that people tried to provide. Birthing is a private affair and it had troubled her greatly when she'd been under such pressure when Brisēís was born. Oya herself had no complications, though her son was weak and the journey back to the sister's farm was extremely difficult for the pair. 
It did teach Rhombea an important lesson early on; run when you're told. A close call with a lynx soon taught him this.
When the pair made it back to the farm, they were greeted by an extremely anxious Evangela and a bemused Sentea. Sentea had tracked Oya when she left, keeping her distance but watching out for the young mare - there had been a lynx that cornered Rhombea but Sentea stuck a tranquilising arrow into it's hind quarters causing the big cat to pass out - just as Oya had yelled at her son to run.
Evangela checked the foal over as Sentea checked over Oya, deeming them both fit they were taken to a warm stall to rest. 
As the years have passed, Rhombea has come to trust Evangela the most out of the sisters, though he takes pointers and keeps an eye on Sentea - she always knows when it will rain or when a predator lurks nearby - his rare moments of affection are reserved for Evangela.
Of late Rhombea has become restless, often discussing with his mum about the possibility of leaving the farm and exploring the land. Oya isn't at all convinced at the idea but boys will be boys...
Behind The Name:
Rhombea is taken from hedera rhombea or Japanese Ivy:

[Which] is a species of ivy (genus Hedera) which is native to the coast of East Asia and some islands of east Asia. It is a plant of botanical family Araliaceae... It is quite common, and lives in slopes rock, soil, trunks of trees especially in Laurel forest, a type of cloud forest.

Cloud forests are also where Abies religiosa or Oyamel are found (but in central and southern Mexico and western Guatemala).

Massive thanks to AppleHunter for providing the *perfect* lineart for this guy. Absolutely suits him down to the ground! It took me absolutely ages to come up with a name for him! I initially wanted something representational of forests, tigers and greenery but after hours looking around for inspiration I was about to give up. Next thing I know, Nich's suggested "What about a type of ivy?" *wikiattack* and I find an ivy that is native to cloud forests - the perfect link to his mum <3 
Previous name ideas were:
~"viðr kǫttr" - forest cat in Old Norse, but I didn't know how to pronounce it.
~"Yù hǔ" - jade tiger in Chinese, but Yuhu is a type of glue >.> (didn't even give it a thought until I bounced it off of Nich, then found it hilarious *badperson*).
~"Wildcat" - too simple and a bit boring.
