Literature Text

You open my eyes,
To the world that’s outside,
You offer me shelter,
So that I can hide,
You hand me a sword,
And tell me to prepare,
For a world full of battles,
A world that does not care,
You hand me the keys,
To a garden of hope,
You slap me upside-head,
When I’m being a dope,
I pray that there’s one thing,
Than in return I can do,
And that’s to hear the words;
“I’m damn proud of you,”
That way I’d know ,
Without a double guess,
I’ve managed to do it,
To make you impressed,
The person I am today,
Its your love that’s the cause,
I’m the one who’s damn proud,
To be a daughter of yours.
I wrote a poem and drew a picture for my Mum for Mothers day. Just thought I'd share it with you all.
