Mentioned it a lot before and it's something that I'm fairly sure is a good plan, the account switch is going to happen.

I'd clearly been having this thought for the last 3 years (judging by the age of that account) so it's not a knee-jerk reaction.

There is a chance I will re-upload stuff, probably my favourite bits and bobs, though nothing will be deleted from here. The reuploads will likely have the newer info for the respective characters but rest assured art collectors; nothing is being deleted. Do not reupload anything from this account to your account without contacting me first, though in 99% of cases I will say no.

I'd rather people only add me to their watch if they intend on speaking to me at least semi-regularly. I don't want stalkers. Don't bother to watch the account if you're doing it just for sales, ARPG stuff or that kind of thing, you wont see that as a focus any more. Everything sold will be done privately from now on, I'm done with the public song-and-dance.

Things will be quiet there for a bit while I decide what I'm going to focus on though it has been on my mind to do some trades or something - best to add the new account if you're interested in an art trade of some sort

So I took a little break, was gone for just over a month.

I don't know if I feel better for it, I did manage to at least open photoshop in that time and make a start on a few things but ultimately, the inclination to do art is still seriously damaged by what happened previously this year. I'm completely uncertain as to what I'm going to do but I want to write something that at least puts into black and white what people can expect as far as the content currently in my gallery is concerned.

The characters that I have, genos, 'products', whatever you want to call them, they are still somewhat for sale in an approximate way - meaning I'm not actively searching or looking to sell them, for such a simple prospect it's actually quite stressful and draining to wait 2 months for payments that you then have to chase, just because you don't want to be the bad guy >.>
There are a few characters/designs that I'm attached to (moreso the ones I've made than what others have done, though there are a couple of exceptions, the fondness for them is tainted in a lot of ways and I'm not sure I can ever really 'go back') but generally speaking, majority of the art that's already been created for them is connected to what they were (or have to remain) so I can never truly pick them up and make them wholly mine in some other capacity. This stings quite a lot, especially as I find it irritating that some things are 'copyright' - bright red horses, horses with lion's manes.. You know the generic stuff that people jump on as being 'iconic' of their thing in some way. Especially when you look at a breed like Boucles, whereby just about any given thing, colour or motif, has been genetically coded to correspond to that breed; it's impossible to cut away from it. Imagine peafowling but on a scale that covers just about every aspect of design. I feel a bit entrapped by it in all honesty, especially after everything that I've done, it's genuinely soul-destroying that the whole thing is, well, to repeat myself; tainted.

It's like this internal debate between principles and just wanting to 'get on', to enjoy things and just do whatever I wanted in the first place. Yet, when you feel like any interaction with the group is going to be negative or treated with bias, it leaves you with somewhat of a sour taste, especially having seen behind the curtain and knowing that it's not paranoia - it genuinely does go on. You feel like you're beaten before you start.

Then more recently things have soured elsewhere, for what reason I have no idea. Seems I am only good for a certain length of time before I get discarded for something else.

Real-life does have me a little bit by the balls but not so much that I couldn't dedicate time to art/creating... I don't have the inclination to do it because I feel so out of puff with everything that's happened. Yes, my priorities have shifted; any responsible person's would but I know that it's still possible to have hobbies. In fact it's very healthy to do so and I shouldn't stop.

So the tl;dr part is that I'm not going to delete this account. So those people who keep flapping over art going missing; don't flap, it's not going to go missing. I feel like I need to keep active to some extent on this account to make sure people don't steal my shit. I think additionally the thing that's frustrating me is how people fail to read what's right there, asking questions I've answered and expecting a reply that if it's not given, they'll just do whatever they want; including stealing. Sort of feels like being held at gunpoint constantly, blackmailed into protecting what's yours - like we're living in some post-apocalyptic world where raiding is fine because there are no laws any more. Though, if I'm honest, people not bothering to read things is something that's gone on for a loooooong time and I'm now finding it even more tiresome to deal with because of all the other rubbish I've dealt with this year; it's the straw that broke the camel's back. And yes, it does give me the hump >.>

Final points then.
I think it's likely I will make a new account. Toddle off onto that for the most part, maybe post new stuff as and when but this one, I think, needs to go silent. Maybe it's a change of name, maybe I need to be a 'fresh face', I don't know. I just feel like, perhaps, "OpalSkye" has some bad mojo connected to it and it's time to leave that chapter behind.
I think I may seek other communities outside of HARPG to participate in, or at least change my main focus of interest. The breeding-centric groups (and those that are attracted to it) don't seem to be where I want to be any more. Art used to be about escapism and freedom, I've found that more recently there are more rules than there are variation of choice and that's the wrong direction for me. I need something that has no rules, no restrictions.

I'll be around for now, just quietly.

All slots, horses and rewards are accurate in terms of what's sold and still for sale in the journal below. I have a deadline in mind for getting this finalised and it's the 1st September. Originally, I had planned to continue being around, doing art, uploading ect but as time has gone on and people have further shown their true colours, I've decided that this is pretty much it for me and dA.
There are so many people that I used to watch that no longer draw at all or have moved onto different platforms/websites or just moved on with their lives in general. I'm not much of a social media nut but then I never really wanted to make money from my art, just to enjoy making it and sharing it with others. It seems that whenever I am involved in a group the only thing that really results from it is my passion and enthusiasm being mushed to pulp with it taking months, if not years for it to fully recover. I am at a point now where I've seen the cycle several times and despite the fact that I am a different person and try to handle it differently each time, nothing changes. I'm going to slip into a more advisory role for a friend as she's got a big project that we've already spent a lot of time working on and developing (keep your eyes peeled people, it's going to be something truly awesome) but my active participation with dA is pretty much done.
Because of this, I will not be checking back from today onwards and if you do reply or comment here or elsewhere, it may be a long time before you get a reply. This doesn't mean anything on my account - designs, artwork or characters are free-for-all, they are still protected under the same copyrights and permissions as before.
No big goodbye party for me. I'll just be off Good luck and have fun people. Catch you in the next one!

Last week for this lot and then I'm shutting up shop. I am still taking offers on whole horses, you'll need to make the offer and not be offended if I don't reply to it or reject it. If you've not heard back from me by 1st September, then it's a no and I'm no longer interested in trading/dealing with Boucles or the associated hijinks.

Can I also just say that I'm not keen on having random notes asking about MP payments and whatever that are deals which did not originate with me. I have never been keen on people ghostwriting my horses (aside from Caynidae as she knows my characters very well and always clarifies things with me first) but I am even less keen on being contacted about payments being done for other people. It's a deal you've sorted with that third party, it's nothing to do with me, I don't want anything from you, please don't drag me into it. I want to LEAVE the Boucle scene, not be reminded of it at random moments. Please respect that and leave me be.

I am going inactive in the group.
As there is a policy of not being able to remove characters from the breed, I only have the option to go inactive with them. This means that I will not be participating in any further Boucle related events (though if I am commissioning you currently for something to do with them, please don't worry, I haven't changed my mind, I will still honour our arrangement). I will not be breeding, selling or otherwise treating my remaining horses as Boucles from the start of September onwards, if you want something Boucle-related from me, now is the time to ask. I am looking to clear out as much as possible so that if there are people that want the Boucles that I have, they should have the opportunity to buy them to continue using them in this way; I will not be.

I have no intention of closing the door on anybody who is into Boucles, this is purely a case of being bored and looking to more enjoyable future events and projects.

All breeding slots are useable as soon as I have received payment, I will update the slot list and reply back to you. I have no restrictions on inbreeding or what you're breeding for, if you want to try for homozygous mutations/dilutions, you have my blessing and I wish you good luck. All Boucles for sale come with rights to any unclaimed BU-MP rewards, majority of which don't even have their plaques yet because, yep. I relinquish all rights to those rewards if you purchase the whole horse.
